IÉSEG Graduate “Alma” represents France at Eurovision 2017!

The next edition of the Eurovision, the long-running annual international TV song competition, will take place in Ukraine on May 13th 2017. Representing France, in this year’s contest is 28 year-old IÉSEG graduate Alexandra Maquet, or “Alma”, with her song “Requiem”.

Pianist and singer-songwriter, Alma studied at IÉSEG until 2011, before launching her musical career. Her first solo album is also due to be released shortly before Eurovision.

Alma notes: “I have spent five amazing years at IÉSEG, and it has taught me a lot ! As much for business related things as opening myself to other cultures. I got the chance to travel to Brazil and Italy during these years and I really think traveling and learning languages is someone’s biggest strength to succeed in today’s world.

“I am very proud to represent France at the Eurovision song contest… I decided to follow my passion and hanging on to my dream by working hard and being patient. It brought me where I am today, and I am super excited! So never give up anything is possible after graduating from IÉSEG!”

IÉSEG is very proud that she has been selected for this competition and wishes her all the best in Kiev on May 13th.
