Sports

With more than 800,000 members spread over almost 10,000 clubs, the region demonstrates its attachment to the practice of sports. The greater Lille area alone has more than 350,000 sports club affiliates.

The region is also home to prominent football/soccer and basketball teams, and hosts international competitions in athletics.
Last but not least, the region boasts a beautiful natural environment with many seaside resorts and harbours along its 120 kilometres of coastline, lovely rivers and several regional parks. A short walk from the university is the Lille zoo.

Athletics/Sports Centers

Student Service Association (AEU)

This association proposes several possibilities to sports fans:

  • Sports complex St Martin: this 7-hectare complex caters for several indoor or outdoor sporting activities (football, tennis, handball, rugby, volley-ball, basket-ball, archery, aerobics, ping-pong, badminton…).
  • Fitness room: equipped for fitness training, gym, dance (modern, jazz), aerobics and bodybuilding during group or individual training session. Room is available with subscription (from 3 to 9 months) at student prices.
  • Norbert Segard Sports Complex: allows the practice of collective sports as well as fitness and bodybuilding. Sports associations have the opportunities to book the Norber Segard sports rooms.
  • AEIL Sports Section (BDS): this section of AEIL is managed by students and offers to students the opportunity to practice various sports activities (rugby, football, basket-ball, handball, dance, tennis, badminton…).

The sports section has a notice board located near the cafeterias.

BDS – Sports Bureau

The Sports Bureau provides IÉSEG students opportunities for regular training and/or sports tournaments. It organizes the practices of various activities (rugby, football, basketball, handball, dance, tennis, badminton …).
