Student Testimonials

What do some of our former and current students think about the MIB ?

When I was looking for a generalist post-graduate programme in international business, I soon came across the French landscape of business schools with a long-standing tradition and high-level education. From the very first moment of contact, IESEG treated me with a very personal and individual approach. While the programme was highly international and global in terms of content, teaching personnel, and my classmates, the individual attention never stopped being an essential part of the MIB programme. The first semester, with its intense core courses, served as a solid foundation on which we could build during the latter stage of elective courses as well as eventually in the internship phase and job-entry. However, I did not only take a profound expertise in international business acquired during hard coursework at IESEG with me but also a great overall experience with nice people from all over the world in a comfortable family-like learning environment.

I believe studying in one of the top ten Grande Écoles in a program provided 100% in English, having course mates and professors from 14 different nationalities, living in an environment where I can practice conversing in French and appreciate the charm of the French way of life, is the perfect combination of a rewarding and personal enriching experience for me during my sabbatical year. My experience studying in IESEG School of Management has been fulfilling and a wonderful break from my professional career, where time wasmore than a highly priced commodity. I thank each and every one of my Professors, for thematerial and spiritual support at critical and opportune times throughout the MIB course. My advice to prospective students is if studying in a business school in France is paramount in achieving your goals and career aspirations, choose an institution like IESEG with a high degree of internationalization which has the necessary worldwide accreditations as it does add weight to the qualification obtained and it would be one of the stepping stones in carving a good career path ahead. To my course mates originating from 14 different countries around the globe, I had great fun with you all in Lille and may we all succeed in our respective endeavors.

My Engineering background and prior work experience with Accenture, together with my dreams of pursuing an International career, led me to my decision to enroll in IESEG MIB. Now, when I work for the Global HQ's of a Fortune 500 company, managing operations across 20+ countries, I could not ask for anything more! Every single moment and every penny I invested in IESEG was worth it! To me, IESEG is not just a school, brand, or culture, it is an Identity.
The exposure I received in terms of academics and culture were tremendous during my MIB program at IESEG. I had the opportunity to study along a diverse group of 16 different nationalities in MIB courses and 33 different nationalities, including the Erasmus students in my elective courses. This cross cultural experience is one of the key skills which have helped me to work seamlessly in an international career. The opportunity to customize the courses to our requirements and the Executive internship helps students to focus more on their field of interest, and apply the knowledge gained here directly onto real life. The support of faculty, especially the course Director and the Internship cell, is highly amicable. Most importantly, considering all of these in just one year, the amazing student life in Lille, the fact that you gain amazing friends all around the world and finally, the Master's degree from a Grande École; I would strongly recommend our MIB program is your right choice!
The bottom line is I enjoyed each and every single moment spent at IESEG in the last one year. If I had access to a time machine, I would for sure go back again! J'adore IESEG.

When studying international business, a multi-cultural perspective is a necessity. At IESEG, the diversity is impressive. The MIB programme creates a learning environment that nurtures the point of view of many different cultures, while incorporating the teaching of qualified and interesting professors. My timestudying in theMIB has proved invaluable, not just for what I learned inside the classroom but also for what I learned outside of school, from the relationships formed withpersons of many diverse backgrounds.

If I had a chance to describe MIB it would be Masters in 'Intellectual Business'. The reasonfor that is becauseMIB caters to your learning needs in a manner which allows you to be creative and forthright about your decisions at the same time. It enables you to understand your strength in different business fields and then provides you with the tools to excel in business solutions. In today's fast growing b-school population, IESEG's MIB is a cult in itself which has a wide variety of educational treasures waiting to be explored, and I am sure you as students will love the this treasure hunt.

The MIB programme was truly an international experience, from the professors and students I interacted with, to the crossroads city of Lille conveniently located near London, Brussels, and Paris. This programme gave me a solid foundation in International Business and also allowed me to customize my studies thanks to the wide array of electives. What initially attracted me to the programme was the internship and through the help of IESEG and its strong network with international companies. I know that this invaluable experience will give me the competitive edge in the business world for when I return to my home country.

"I believe that it is not the destination but the process, the journey, in reaching the destination that matters the most!" MIB is, sincerely speaking; a cherry on the cake of my journey to become a successful individual and a professional!I consider this program one of the best grooming sessions I have had throughout my student life, as it personifies the need to do "beyond". This course not only provides but demands us students to step in to pursue excellence. My intention to join this course accompanied the pure excitement of being one of the scholarship holders, being in another continent, another country with students from various nationalities.
On reaching IESEG, I discovered not only a dedicated staff from different corners of the world, trained to handle students from different countries, but enormously learned and humble in their aspiration to bring all of us under the spell of a unified team! I believe that the most astonishing part of this particular program was the presence of students from different backgrounds such as, arts, music, micro biology, commerce, engineering, physiotherapists, law et all…under one roof!!!
IESEG is indeed "a place to be", for us youngsters who wish to live a whole new bundle of experiences. You get closer to your own identity and nationality, while accepting other nationalities in their most diversified forms, learning new languages, interacting with peers who share a passion to bring about a change in the society, who try every possible way to make you feel comfortable, finding a home away from home, making friends for life, finding love and warmth in every relationship, learning something new every new day…..are worth a lifetime!
These are memories that will stay with me after my share of life at Lille, France, in Europe and at IESEG and as a substantial part of the MIB program! These have already begun shaping my personality and my future!
What you are about to live is a whole new life of freedom, change and valuable lessons! Enriching and fulfilling! So chin up as you look forward to one memorable ride in the process of becoming an excelling individual. Welcome to IESEG!! And as the French say – Santé!

As a student with an academic background in business, I was looking for an additional program which could provide me with a more practical approach to business. I found myself lacking in the latter in order to be able to strive for strong starting position in a multinational company. Most of the programs offered by other universities where either 2 years, did not have the international perspective I wanted, or did not really fit what I was looking for. Whilst checking the ranking of business schools in France, I stumbled upon IESEG, checked out their website and found a program which fit my requirements.
First of all I highly valued the mix of both ambitious international students (with various educational/working backgrounds) and highly recognized international professors which allowed me to build a global network and absorb a lot of their knowledge and experiences. Secondly I really appreciated the combination of general business courses in the first semester (with HBS cases to be solved) and the possibility to compile your program of courses to your own preference in the second semester. Thirdly, due to the teamwork oriented aspect of many courses, the program helped me to strengthen my intercultural management skills.
These 3 aspects, united with the ambitious atmosphere at IESEG made the program really unique. Speaking for myself and many others, I can say that this experience is never to be forgotten, we were given the possibility to work in teams with people from so many different cultural and national backgrounds. I know I will benefit from this experience throughout my international career. I am confident that those assets of the program made me more eligible to start working in an international environment than I was before this experience.

Philip Hermans, Class of 2009-2010

Financial Consultant in CFO Services – Deloitte (Brussels)

My reasons for joining the MIB program at IESEG School of Management, Lille was to sharpen my skills and hone the qualities of Business Manager. My area of knowledge from the beginning was marketing, and thanks to the MIB, I was able to achieve the success I always wanted. I always dreamt of working with a consulting firm, but because of my young age, it became a hurdle for me. With the MIB, today I am able to achieve it. In MIB you not only learn to develop your interpersonal skills but you even learn how to work strategically in group which is very much important for the corporate world. The best part of IESEG is that you not only learn inside the class but you even learn outside the class while team building games.
Staying in Lille was one of the best experiences of my student life. Lille is the gateway for European Capital. Major places like Brussels, Paris, and Amsterdam etc are nearby located. I always got the advantage of IESEG strategic location. The student life in IESEG is the best as I can tell. Today, I look back at this whole experience and can say without any hesitation that this past year was as a delightful one, on both an academic and human perspective.
