Internship
All MIB students need to complete an Internship as part of their program in order to graduate. The internship could be in France or abroad. However, it is ESSENTIAL that the student speaks some level of French in order to do an internship in France.
Length of the Internship
- Minimum 2 months, maximum 6 months. However there are a lot more opportunities for 6-month internships.
Starting date
- It can be as early as June, immediately after second semester. However, students can decide to take the summer off and start the internship in the fall.
Objectives of the Internship
- To allow students to obtain professional experience in which they will demonstrate:
- ability to analyze a situation or problem
- ability to propose concrete solutions
- ability to take on responsibilities.
- To help the students become aware of behavior and relationships within the company or organization.
Salary
- In France, students doing an internship of minimum 2 months will receive a monthly salary equivalent of 30% of the minimum wage in France (around 400 euros). Certain exceptions apply.
- This rule does not apply to internships outside of France.
The Internship
- The task: the students choose their tasks/missions depending on their professional projects. All the major subjects taught at IESEG may be used for the executive internship: Finance, Marketing, Management, Human Resources, etc.
- The students must not only observe but take an active role in the company and in the tasks given to them, making sure that they are completed with the utmost efficiency. It is recommended that the company nominate a manager to supervise the student.
- Each student will be meeting with the MIB program director and the internship coordinator to discuss individual plans on the internship.
