{"id":107842,"date":"2021-03-16T11:12:07","date_gmt":"2021-03-16T10:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=107842"},"modified":"2021-03-16T16:06:14","modified_gmt":"2021-03-16T15:06:14","slug":"ieseg-obtains-a-responsible-campus-trophy-in-the-quality-of-life-accessibility-and-diversity-category","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/news\/ieseg-obtains-a-responsible-campus-trophy-in-the-quality-of-life-accessibility-and-diversity-category\/","title":{"rendered":"I\u00c9SEG obtains a responsible campus trophy in the &#8220;Quality of life, accessibility and diversity&#8221; category"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the 7th edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utopies.com\/publications\/trophees-francophones-des-campus-responsables-7eme-edition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Troph\u00e9es des Campus Responsables<\/em><\/a>*, held on Feburary 10<sup>th<\/sup>, I\u00c9SEG obtained first prize in the \u201cquality of life, accessibility, and diversity\u201d category, following the presentation of its project entitled \u201cUnderstanding and preventing sexist and sexual violence\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This project aims to raise awareness about and help the School\u2019s students to understand and prevent sexist, sexual, and LGBT-phobic violence, including verbal abuse and discrimination, cyber-harassment, sexual harassment, hazing, sexual assault and rape. This project is composed of five flagship actions that have been implemented at I\u00c9SEG since 2020, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/news\/ieseg-lance-cours-en-ligne-spoc-comprendre-et-prevenir-violences-sexistes-et-sexuelles\/\">an online course (SPOC)<\/a>, mandatory for all first-year Grande Ecole Program and Bachelor in International Business programs, along with in-depth training for student association leaders. The <em>F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des Etudiants <\/em>also created an Equality Charter, which was signed by association leaders to underline the major role they can play in prevention, and a session on gender-based violence in advertising was introduced in the Grande Ecole Marketing program and the International MBA program. Finally, each campus established a reception unit and protocol for dealing with students who find themselves in situations of harassment, violence or discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>As Mar\u00eda Castillo, professor and CSR manager at I\u00c9SEG, explains, \u201cThis project fully meets our objective of training managers who are pioneers of change, inspiring and ethical. It also echoes our CSR strategy, particularly in the framework of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/news\/ieseg-publishes-letter-of-commitment-fighting-against-violence-and-discrimination\/\">commitment letter<\/a> signed in September 2020 by the Management to promote living together, equality and inclusion of all students. This work is the result of a process of reflection that began several years ago and involves teachers, administrative staff, student associations and our centers of excellence ICIE and ICOR.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After studying the application files and the project pitches made by the institutions, the jury, made up of representatives from <em>ADEME, <\/em>the <em>Association des Enseignants de la Transition, <\/em>the <em>Agence Fran\u00e7aise du D\u00e9veloppement, <\/em>the <em>Agence Universitaire de la Franchophonie, <\/em>the <em>Commission Nationale Fran\u00e7aise pour l\u2019UNESCO, Enactus France<\/em> and more, awarded higher education institutions that had implemented the most inspiring and innovative sustainable development projects on their campuses. 27 projects, covering eight themes, were presented this year by 19 French and international institutions committed to considering social and environmental issues in their activities in their teaching. This mobilization was even more impressive considering the health crisis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe members of the jury told us that they particularly appreciated the fact that this project is sustainable and has a strong impact on many students. Instead of a simple information campaign or a one-time event that might only attract an already informed female audience, we have integrated these topics into the core of the curriculum. In total in 2020, 1600 students were trained and educated through this project (including the SPOC and the marketing session).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The jury also appreciated the fact that students were positioned as changemakers and drivers of change. The training sessions allow them to understand and reflect on the positive role they can play to prevent these situations or to help any student victim, in addition to the support provided by the reception unit on each campus. The equality charter was launched at their initiative, as well as the organization of in-depth training days for association leaders.
