Good news for foreign students and graduates: A controversial government circular making it harder for non-EU graduates to work in this country will shortly be scrapped. New interior Minister Manuel Valls said the circular is to be annulled. Cancelling it was one of President Hollande\u2019s campaign promises.
\nThe circular has limited opportunities for foreign students to stay and work after graduation in France.<\/p>\n

At a meeting with representatives of the interior, higher education and social affairs ministries, student leaders were told the circular would be annulled from 31 May, and a favorable replacement, to be published in the next few days, would apply both to cases currently under examination and to new cases. The visa process should go back to its previous form, where foreign graduates could prolong their stay in France by obtaining an open ended work contract (CDI) from a French company.<\/p>\n
