On April 11, the winners of the DATAVIZ Challenge 2023 were rewarded during a conference on “The importance of being a data-driven company”, during which C\u00e9sar ROMERO ARASA (Business Intelligence Manager of Cofidis Spain), Emmanuel VIGNON (CEO of Sicara) and Luc GILLE (Director of Data & Analytics at Korian) spoke.<\/p>\n

The theme of the third edition of this international data visualization competition, in partnership with Cofidis Group, was: “Creating a tool to manage the activity of consumer credit allocation, for loan officers<\/em>“<\/strong>. Indeed, at Cofidis<\/a>, loan officers must be able to perform a simple and quick analysis of their partners. They must also occasionally analyze more specific points when KPIs show an abnormal trend, either downward or upward, in addition to analyzing the profile of borrower clients.<\/p>\n

No less than 81 students, working alone or in pairs, proposed a total of 48 projects to a jury composed of 3 I\u00c9SEG professors specialized in Data Science and Banking, as well as a panel of data professionals from Cofidis Group. The projects were evaluated on the relevance of the choices, the creativity, the graphic design and the readability of the creations, as well as the professionalism and the feasibility of each proposal.<\/p>\n

May-Line COLLETTE (student in Master “Financial Institutions – Risk, Data and Compliance<\/a>” at I\u00c9SEG) and Laurie DE BLAS (student in Master at Paris School of Technology and Business) won the DATAVIZ Challenge 2023.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Their dashboard is based on a very good storytelling, where information is presented in a top-down way, showing a clear and simple view for the user. The blocks of information are well differentiated, allowing the reader to focus on the data that interests them most. Finally, in addition to containing global indicators, it has a historical view that allows to see the evolutions.<\/p>\n

Nisrine CHAHED and No\u00e9mie SALAMEH (students in the “Financial Institutions – Risk, Data and Compliance” Master’s program at I\u00c9SEG) ranked second.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The jury appreciated the fact that the proposed data was processed in order to clean it up and adapt it prior to the construction of the business information. Their dashboard also allows for a reading of the information at different levels, providing graphs where similar periods are compared to avoid seasonal effects. Finally, the main indicators selected give visibility to the commercial activity in terms of operations.<\/p>\n

Rudy ABOAB and Matteo CORDONE<\/p><\/div>\n

Finally, Rudy ABOAB and Matteo CORDONE (students in the “Financial Institutions – Risk, Data and Compliance” Master’s program at I\u00c9SEG) complete the top 3 in this third edition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this well-structured, clear and synthetic proposal, the indicators in the header allow the user to identify himself quickly. Above all, it was decided to establish relationships between the information using a small relational data model, which was greatly appreciated by the jury.<\/p>\n

J\u00e9r\u00e9mie BERTRAND, Deputy Academic Director in charge of the I\u00c9SEG Grande \u00c9cole Program, concludes: “The DATAVIZ Challenge is a great opportunity for students to put into practice what they have studied throughout the year by working on real data and on a problem they could encounter tomorrow in the workplace.\u00a0 With each edition, the participants propose more and more creative and professional solutions. The three winning groups created dashboards that Cofidis Group could use as is to manage the activity of its loan officers, and I congratulate them all for having responded with such quality to this problem<\/em>.”<\/p>\n
