As far back as she can remember, Marion TIRAVY (who graduated the Grande \u00c9cole Program<\/a> in 2013) has always needed something practical to focus on. She has put this characteristic to good use for the last eight years in the Supply Chain Management department of ArcelorMittal<\/a>, where she has had a rich and varied career. She talked to us about a predominantly male sector, still relatively unknown to the general public, which she joined quite by chance. Which just goes to prove – if you want more luck, take more chances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did you choose I\u00c9SEG after getting your baccalaureate?
<\/strong>Because of its place in the rankings, its international dimension, its links with the business world and the variety of subjects on offer so as to keep plenty of doors open. I was struck by the teaching methods (the Lego and Mario in the project management lessons), the practical experience, in particular through internships and projects, of gradually getting closer to working life, and the friendships that still endure. I also learned about the key aspects of the various positions I have held since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you mean?<\/strong>
At I\u00c9SEG, I learned about working in a team, project management, general management and also stock management, and I discovered the area of Supply Chain which immediately appealed to me. I focused on this discipline for my Masters, but also on Human Resources because I have always felt that the two were closely linked. During my job search, I sent out a lot of CVs and I was called back by ArcelorMittal for an HR position. I finally met the head of SCM (Supply Chain Management) who offered me a job\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been your career path within ArcelorMittal?<\/strong>
I joined the customer service team in the Supply Chain department and I have been lucky enough to manage several projects independently in a multicultural environment. I would like to continue my development within the department because there are still many aspects to discover, especially in production management or on the logistics side. Subsequently, I envisage a more central position within the Group to continue working in English on subjects related to the Supply Chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice would you give to people who are interested in your field?<\/strong>
Don\u2019t hesitate to apply and don\u2019t think the industry only offers jobs for men, it\u2019s quite the contrary! There are a lot of opportunities, especially on the sites near Lille, and there are exciting careers to pursue. An internship can be a good first approach for going into this field, learning about the variety in our profession, but also the manufacturing processes, which are particularly impressive. If you are curious and like a challenge, try your luck!<\/p>\n\n\n\r\n

Within ArcelorMittal<\/strong>, the Supply Chain Management department<\/strong> is made up of six entities: customer service, production management, tactical planning and transport\/logistics, etc.
\nAs Customer Satisfaction Support Manager, Marion manages medium-term projects, always with one foot on the operational side and close to its customers and interfaces.
\nWithin the Group, there does tend to be a predominance of men, but mentalities are changing, and we are seeing more and more women at ArcelorMittal… including in roles in charge of the production lines!<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n
