The Teaching Excellence Awards recognize professors who embody I\u00c9SEG&#8217;s ambitious standards of teaching and learning, as well as their day-to-day commitment to students.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For each category (Bachelor, Master, Specialized Master and Executive Education), nominees are selected on the basis of student evaluations.<strong> This year,<\/strong> <strong>55 teachers were nominated and 27 completed the application form<\/strong>, explaining their vision of teaching and learning, how they influence, motivate and inspire their students, and how they contribute to the development of programs, resources or new teaching methods. They also detailed their involvement in the development of their own and other professors&#8217; teaching skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, <strong>5 professors applied for the &#8220;Digital&#8221; Pedagogical Excellence Award, launched in 2021<\/strong> to highlight the use of technology in teaching and learning. The application also uses gamification elements to increase student engagement and motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For his part, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/news\/faculty-in-the-spotlight-frank-goethals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Frank GOETHALS<\/a> has been Professor of Information Systems Management at I\u00c9SEG since 2007, and was Head of the Management Department from 2017 to 2021. He holds a PhD in Applied Economics from KU Leuven (Belgium).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Frank GOETHALS was rewarded for setting up a similar process<\/strong>: as coordinator of Excel training for 1st year students in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/programs\/specialized-masters\/grande-ecole-programme-5-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grande \u00c9cole Program<\/a>, he used the Python programming language to program an engine that generates different Excel tests for each of the 1,200 students in the Bachelor cycle. An engine was also programmed to correct these tests and provide personalized feedback. Students receive their grades and explanations very quickly after taking the test.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CAtherine-Archambault-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-150571\" width=\"150\" height=\"223\"\/><figcaption>Catherine ARCHAMBAULT<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-ieseg-orange-color has-text-color\">&gt; Teaching Excellence Award &#8211; Bachelor&#8217;s level: Catherine ARCHAMBAULT-JANVIER<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Catherine ARCHAMBAULT-JANVIER is Professor of Strategy in the Management and Society Department<\/strong> at I\u00c9SEG. In 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/insights.ieseg.fr\/en\/resource-center\/transforming-company-combining-strategy-and-humanism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">she co-published the book &#8220;Transformez votre entreprise en alliant strat\u00e9gie et humanisme&#8221; <\/a>(Transforming your company by combining strategy and humanism \u2013 published by Ellipses).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-ieseg-orange-color has-text-color\">&gt; Teaching Excellence Award &#8211; Master&#8217;s level: Goedele KREKELS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With a PhD in Applied Economic Sciences from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ugent.be\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ghent University<\/a> (Belgium), <strong>Goedele KREKELS is a professor in the Marketing and Sales department<\/strong>. He was also academic co-director of the Master in International Business between 2014 and 2017. Bart CLAUS teaches courses on consumer psychology and behavior in initial master&#8217;s programs as well as specialized master&#8217;s programs, such as Network Economy courses in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/programs\/specialized-masters\/master-international-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Master in International Business<\/a>. He has published a number of case studies on new business and consumer models in the context of ecological transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Frieder LEMPP has been Professor of Negotiation <\/strong>at I\u00c9SEG since 2017, and is currently Head of the &#8220;Individuals, Organizations and Negotiation&#8221; Department.
