{"id":155629,"date":"2024-03-19T14:55:21","date_gmt":"2024-03-19T13:55:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=155629"},"modified":"2024-03-19T15:06:31","modified_gmt":"2024-03-19T14:06:31","slug":"sustainability-diversity-week","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/news\/sustainability-diversity-week\/","title":{"rendered":"I\u00c9SEG renews its Sustainability and Diversity Week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>While society is faced with environmental and societal challenges, I\u00c9SEG is renewing its awareness-raising week around the issues of sustainability, diversity and mental health.<br>From March 25 to 29, 2024, conferences, webinars, stands and various workshops will take place<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>on the Lille and Paris-La D\u00e9fense campuses<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-ieseg-orange-color has-text-color\">Promoting awareness of social and environmental issues<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>2023 was the warmest year on record, with an average temperature of +1.48\u00b0C compared with the period 1850 &#8211; 1900, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/unfccc.int\/process-and-meetings\/the-paris-agreement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paris Agreement<\/a> set the target of limiting global warming to 1.5\u00b0C. Some social difficulties also remain: 8% of the French population lives below the poverty line, women earn on average 24% less than men, and 91% of racialized people claim to be victims of racial discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>With a view to taking action on these issues and raising awareness, I\u00c9SEG is organizing a week dedicated to the themes of sustainability, diversity and mental health. <\/strong>External speakers, professors and students will be on hand to talk about their initiatives in response to the major challenges facing the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-ieseg-orange-color has-text-color\">A dynamic and fruitful week ahead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many activities around the topics of the week will take place on the Lille and Paris-La D\u00e9fense campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 26, student and non-profit associations, as well as companies, will set up stands on the campuses, offering a variety of activities around these themes. Participants will be able to find: Les Ombres, <a href=\"https:\/\/binette.io\/collections\/les-binettes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Binette<\/a> (incubated at I\u00c9SEG), Alv\u00e9ole, Climatosportifs, Entourage, Expl&#8217;aura and the Student Federation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will be creating a participatory plant mural to design the emblematic I\u00c9SEG logo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Also on the program is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inegalites.fr\/monopoly-inegalites\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Monopoly game<\/a> based on unfair, socially-inspired rules. Developed by the Observatory of Inequalities<\/strong>, this game allows players to discover how rules are applied differently according to social category, age, skin color, gender&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Always with a focus on raising awareness and taking action to address environmental and societal issues, I\u00c9SEG will give the opportunity to staff, students and partner companies to attend various webinars and conferences. These will cover topics such as neurodivergence, dys disorders, the energy transition and the LGBTQ+ community, all of which raise many questions today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support the &#8220;Maison de l&#8217;Amiti\u00e9&#8221; &#8211; a charity in La D\u00e9fense, <strong>a food and hygiene product drop-off point will be held throughout the week<\/strong>, at the entrance to the Promenade building on the Paris campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/news\/2023-icor-award-aurelia-gorret\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ICOR prize<\/a> will be awarded to the student who has written the most outstanding master&#8217;s thesis on sustainable development<\/strong>, starting at 7pm on Tuesday March
