On September 24 and 26, I\u00c9SEG’s Social and Environmental Impact Department opened the Impact Corners, two spaces dedicated to the challenges of ecological and social transition, on its La D\u00e9fense<\/a> and Lille campuses<\/a>. These innovative spaces aim to become places of collaboration and interaction for all: students, faculty, administrative staff, graduates and partner companies.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u00c9SEG, a school committed to sustainability<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

“While sustainability is a cornerstone of the School’s strategy, and I\u00c9SEG is recognized both in France and internationally for its CSR strategy and the way it is implemented in all areas, there was not yet a dedicated room within the School<\/em>\u201d, points out Sabah MBOUZID, Sustainability Project Manager, responsible for the roll-out of the Lille Impact Corner.<\/em> \u201cWith these spaces, we are establishing an emblematic place where we can make social and environmental issues tangible by addressing, for example, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and drive discussions on these subjects.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Impact Corners will offer ongoing programming including debates, film screenings, training workshops and awareness-raising sessions on sustainable development, diversity and inclusion, gender-based and sexual violence… Everyone will be able to organize sustainability-related events there, whether DIY workshops, collective works or research-related clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Whether you’re a professor, a member of the administrative staff, a student, an association or a graduate, you’ll be able to use these spaces to organize any type of action. For our part, we’ll be offering a rich thematic program linked to International Days… International Day for the Prevention of Violence against Women, European Waste Reduction Week, Solidarity Week, which will all take place in November, to enhance the group experience.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Impact Corners, spaces dedicated to discussions and learning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Impact Corners also offer a wide range of resources. A selection of books, podcasts, films and documentaries on societal issues will enable everyone to enrich their knowledge on these subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Impact Corner is a place to get together, discuss social, societal and environmental issues and get inspired. Why not then use this knowledge and these exchanges in my classes?\u201d says Sarah VAN DER AUWERAER, professor of Operations Management at I\u00c9SEG. For Fernando, a Mexican PhD student: \u201cthe Impact Corner is a space where you can find inspiration, exchange with a wide variety of people, and explore a wide range of themes, even going beyond sustainable development.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
