By organizing a variety of events, ranging from conferences to a public speaking competition, the association provides students with opportunities to experience entrepreneurship firsthand. \u201cWe want to inspire students to embrace entrepreneurship,\u201d says Th\u00e9o VANHILLE, the association\u2019s chairman and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/programmes\/masters-specialises\/programme-grande-ecole\/programme-master\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Master\u2019s cycle student in the Grande \u00c9cole program<\/a> at I\u00c9SEG.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-ieseg-orange-color has-text-color\">The public speaking competition: a growing success<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018How I Met Your Start-Up&#8217; is best known for one of its key events: the public speaking competition. <strong>For its 10th edition, the event held in a hybrid format brought together nearly 700 in-person attendees and around 100 viewers live on YouTube<\/strong>. More than just a competition, the event enabled eight students to pitch French start-up projects to a jury of professionals. It provides students with opportunities to enhance their public speaking skills while offering both the audience and the jury a dynamic and captivating experience,<\/em>\u201d explains Charles HEMERY, start-ups coordinator and a student in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/programmes\/masters-specialises\/programme-grande-ecole\/programme-master\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grande \u00c9cole Program<\/a> (Master\u2019s cycle). \u201c<em>Seeing the venue gradually fill up gave me butterflies\u2014it was a truly euphoric moment!<\/em>\u201d adds Th\u00e9o VANHILLE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond the competition, <em>How I Met Your Start-Up<\/em> also spotlighted other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/life-at-ieseg\/associative-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I\u00c9SEG student associations<\/a> during the event. Groups like I\u00c9SEG Danse and the cheerleading team performed, while the <em>Bureau des Arts<\/em> set up a caricature stand and a musical duo performance during the cocktail hour. The <em>Bureau des Jeux <\/em>hosted chess games and other mini games, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere. Partner organizations, including Caisse d\u2019\u00c9pargne, Banque de France, and the French Public Finance Department, also hosted stands, enhancing the event\u2019s fun and friendly yet professional environment. The association also hosts immersive events such as the &#8220;Entrepreneurial Night,&#8221; where students, often strangers to each other, are coached by local entrepreneurs to develop innovative projects overnight. This intense, hands-on experience gives participants a glimpse into the reality of launching a start-up. \u201c<em><strong>It\u2019s an exciting and challenging experience that prepares students for the real-world demands of entrepreneurship<\/strong>,<\/em>\u201d notes Th\u00e9o VANHILLE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The association is also striving to support projects born during the event. \u201c<em>We aim to ensure these projects don\u2019t remain one-night ideas but are nurtured with the help of entities within our network, such as the I\u00c9SEG incubator or financial partners, to turn them into fully-fledged start-ups<\/em>,\u201d adds Charles HEMERY. Additionally, the group organizes a start-up forum that connects students with young businesses, helping them secure internships and gain early professional experience. Through these initiatives, students gain tangible opportunities to immerse themselves in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-ieseg-orange-color has-text-color\">An association committed to today\u2019s challenges with ambitious goals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From the beginning, the association has prioritized partnering with high-standard start-ups.
