{"id":30733,"date":"2015-04-27T16:01:16","date_gmt":"2015-04-27T14:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/?post_type=news&#038;p=30733"},"modified":"2016-01-06T08:53:27","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T07:53:27","slug":"international-collaborative-learning-at-ieseg","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/news\/international-collaborative-learning-at-ieseg\/","title":{"rendered":"International Collaborative Learning at I\u00c9SEG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students from I\u00c9SEG and the Robins School of Business &#8211; University of Richmond (USA) have been using new technology to work together on supply chain management.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-31355\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/international-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"international\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/international-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/international-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/international-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/international-56x56.jpg 56w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The schools\u00a0utilized the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) model\u00a0to allow\u00a0students\u00a0to study global supply chain management in a broadened learning environment. In order to enhance students\u2019 international experience, teams consisting of two students from each school were asked to analyze and improve various global supply chains.<\/p>\n<p>Amit Eynan, management professor and department chair at Robins explained: \u201cThis long-distance alliance allows students to experience and ultimately overcome cultural barriers such as communication, language and time difference. They also had the chance to practice long-distance group dynamics and leadership. Utilizing web conferencing technology, the teams presented their projects as if they were in the same room and not 3,900 miles apart separated by the Atlantic Ocean\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Christine Di Martelly\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/faculty-and-research\/professor\/?id=1626\">Christine Di Martinelly<\/a>, management professor at I\u00c9SEG added that as a result\u00a0 of the multicultural composition of the teams, \u201cthe presentations exhibited broad insights and perspectives that we might not have seen in a traditional presentation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Binh Tran, a student from I\u00c9SEG noted: \u201cIt was a unique experience having a joint class with another university from a different continent.
