{"id":50892,"date":"2016-11-28T15:11:56","date_gmt":"2016-11-28T14:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=50892"},"modified":"2018-05-30T10:56:02","modified_gmt":"2018-05-30T08:56:02","slug":"first-students-gain-certificate-in-ethics-and-sustainable-organizations","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/news\/first-students-gain-certificate-in-ethics-and-sustainable-organizations\/","title":{"rendered":"First students gain Certificate in Business Ethics and Sustainable Organizations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-49592\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Icor-logo.gif\" alt=\"ICOR\" width=\"300\" height=\"170\" \/>In line with its vision to be a unique international\u00a0 hub empowering changemakers for a better society, and its mission, I\u00c9SEG is committed to providing students on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/programs\/masters-science\/grande-ecole-programme-5-years\/\">Grande \u00c9cole program<\/a>, a solid generalist management education that is grounded in strong ethical values.<\/p>\n<p>This is why I\u00c9SEG decided to offer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/en\/programs\/masters-science\/grande-ecole-programme-5-years\/master\/\">Master students, from any of the 9 specializations on the program,<\/a> the possibility to take a Certificate in Business Ethics and Sustainable Organizations.\u00a0 To complete the certificate they must carry out a series of academic (coursework and thesis) and\/or practical (including internship) assignments relating to CSR (Corporate Social responsibility), ethics or sustainability issues, which involve professors and experts from different management disciplines.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_50873\" style=\"width: 170px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-50873\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-50873\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Npagnon.jpg\" alt=\"npagnon\" width=\"160\" height=\"215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Npagnon.jpg 885w, https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Npagnon-223x300.jpg 223w, https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Npagnon-768x1032.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Npagnon-762x1024.jpg 762w, https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Npagnon-112x150.jpg 112w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 160px) 100vw, 160px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-50873\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nicolas Pagnon<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Some of our first graduates have now completed this initiative. One of these is Nicolas Pagnon, who carried out his thesis on the characteristics and factors associated with income inequality in European countries. He explains: \u201cI decided to take this certificate because I would like my future career functions to include social or environmental perspectives\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was very interested by the professors and other experts that I had the opportunity to meet during the certificate. This also gave me the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the key players and issues in these fields, and to highlight on my CV my interest in the issues I covered in the certificate, in parallel with my degree\u201d. Nicolas followed electives on topics such as &#8216;Business sustainable development\u201d, \u201cInternational development and management of NGOs\u201d, and \u201capplied conflict management theory\u201d, in addition to his thesis.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieseg.fr\/enseignement-et-recherche\/enseignant\/?id=1451\">Fran\u00e7ois MAON<\/a>, professor and co-director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/icor.ieseg.fr\/\">I\u00c9SEG Center for Organizational Responsibility<\/a> (ICOR), adds: \u201cWe are delighted that the first students have now completed this interdisciplinary initiative carried out in the framework of ICOR activities. We are confident that increasing numbers of students will take part over to this initiative in the next years. Challenges linked to corporate, social and environmental responsibility, sustainable innovation, managerial ethics and questions concerning the raison d\u2019\u00eatre of organizations are increasingly integrated in the programs we offer.
