The minor trains students towards becoming effective and responsible people managers. Towards this goal, our courses focus on essential skills in people management, specifically how to strategically hire the right people, evaluate them, and create an environment that develops their potential. The pedagogy is based on understanding theoretical frameworks as well as gaining insights into practical implementation using tools such as case discussions, debates, simulations, presentations, and practical work. The courses delve on topics such as talent acquisition and management, HR analytics, performance and compensation management, global labor law, diversity and inclusion, and work-life and well-being management.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Personal Development <\/strong>track helps students to acquire skills focused on better understanding of themselves and the people around them in order to communicate and be responsible leaders. Examples of courses are personal development through drama, creativity, artistic culture and expression, mindfulness, and time management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Intercultural Competencies<\/strong> track aims at helping students to develop the cultural intelligence that they will need to succeed in their education, international internships, and future careers. Examples of courses include Understanding Cultural Diversity and Managing Cultural Diversity in Vivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, at the executive level, the department manages the <strong>Executive Master in Transformation and People Development<\/strong> (Executive Mast\u00e8re Sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9\u00ae Direction Transformation et D\u00e9veloppement Humain). This program prepares participants for an executive career by training them in essential skills and knowledge in areas such as Change Management, Leadership, Coaching, Human Resource Management, Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2>Research, Expertise &amp; Corporate World<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our professors work on a variety of research topics including interdisciplinary research in the areas of <strong>human resource management<\/strong> and <strong>organizational studies<\/strong>. The topics that the professors focus on include strategic human resource management practices, talent management, implementation of sustainable practices, creativity, employee work behavior, social media and employees, leadership, identity and image management, work meaningfulness, change management, relationship at work, working in teams, intercultural management, expatriate management, diversity and inclusion practices, and conflict management. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our permanent professors have published articles in <strong>international peer-reviewed journals <\/strong>includingAcademy of Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Academy of Management Learning and Management, Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology,&nbsp; Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Business and Society, Human Resource Management Review, and others.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department also manages <strong>an excellence center and a research center<\/strong>. First, we host the I\u00c9SEG Center of Excellence for Intercultural Engagement (ICIE), which combines multidisciplinary research in business, management and education, with expertise in education and training. It aims to develop knowledge on the development of intercultural mindsets and the way this can be applied in different organizations. Second, we manage the Research Center on leadership (iLead), which takes an interdisciplinary approach to studying leadership in all of its different facets. Finally, our members have strong ties with the corporate world. Our professors of practice work closely with companies in their professional activities and our research professors partner with companies and managers for their research.
