new buildingMarine Ducos and Thomas Quenouille, two referent students for Vision process, have interviewed Fabienne Leclerc (Studies Department, Paris), Lauréline (Library, Paris), Hella (Professor, Paris), François and Bertrand (both students) who belong to the “Promenade de l’Arche” subgroup (from group 1 “Best Place to Work).

First, could you explain why you have chosen to join “Best place to work” workgroup?

Fabienne: This workgroup is related to my work at IESEG since I’m in charge of the allocation of classrooms and its optimization. I wanted to be at the center of the topic to share my opinion, imagine what could be done differently and think about a new system.

Lauréline: This project allows me to have a global view of the school. It allows me to contribute to the thinking and design of a new library or a learning center in the future new building in Paris and to take into account the new needs of students, professors and staff in order to provide a better and appropriate service.

Hella: For me, Vision project is a challenge. Participate to a work group allows me to gain some new experience which are different from my “daily” activities and to discover new things. Working in a team with colleagues from other services is really interesting and enriching. Know more about the School and contribute to its evolution convinced me to join this group.

François: I’ve joined Vision project since it’s an enriching project for everybody, students, staff and professors. It allows me to think about the future of IESEG.

Bertrand: This workgroup allows me to have a variety of actions and to contribute to the future of the School.

Could you share with us some news on the subgroup « Promenade de l’Arche »?

Collectively: Things are moving fast! It’s a concrete project. The construction of the building has already started and we have to think about the design of the classrooms, meetings rooms, cafeteria, etc. For example, we have launched a survey for students and staff to gather ideas about the ambiance of the new building, and have already received more than 430 answers! We have also done some learning experiences at Steelcase and Unilever. The subgroup meets weekly and there are frequent meetings to coordinate with the architects who are working with us on this new building. For our subgroup, it’s Vision 2017 since the building will be ready for September 2017!

Vision project in one word?

Collectively: Exciting and engaging! This project of new building is really stimulating and worth all the hours spent on it.

One word for students?

Fabienne and Lauréline: This subgroup is the opportunity for students to express themselves and to share it with other students since they will study in this new building in a close future. Students have a different view and give a new dimension to the project. We are available to meet and discuss with them.

Hella: discussion and teamwork between students and staff / professors is really important and interesting for everybody. It’s a mix of generations which work together in a cooperative way with openness. Each generation brings something: a different view which will allow us to be stronger together. It’s what we have to understand all together. Change is everywhere and everyday. Let’s leading change together!

François and Bertrand: It’s a concrete project which impacts us, students. It allows us to be committed to the school in a different way. It’s a rich experience really different from our courses! It also allows us to be engaged in our school development and to apply what we are learning at IESEG.
