Dear students,
It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Hugo MUÑOZ GÓMEZ, a student in the Master in Digital Marketing & CXM on the Lille campus, who joined IÉSEG in August 2024 after arriving from Colombia.
Studying and living in France was a long-held dream for Hugo, which he pursued with great determination. At 38 years old, he naturally took on the role of the “big brother” of his cohort. Highly appreciated by his classmates, he was known for his sociable nature, his maturity, and his positive outlook on life.
Hugo was deeply committed to the IÉSEG community. Fluent in French and passionate he was actively involved in student life and represented his peers during the Student Experience Department workshop, where he earned the respect of students, and staff alike.
Even in the face of illness, Hugo remained remarkably positive and attentive to others, leaving a strong and lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The IÉSEG community is deeply saddened by his death.
Our thoughts are with Hugo’s family, loved ones, classmates, and friends.
An online condolence book has been opened to give members of the community the opportunity to share remembrance messages.
All tributes will be forwarded to the family.

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous vous informons du décès d’Hugo MUÑOZ GÓMEZ, étudiant arrivé de Colombie en août 2024 pour intégrer le Master Marketing Digital & CXM sur le campus de Lille.
Étudier et vivre en France était un rêve de longue date pour Hugo, qu’il poursuivait avec beaucoup de détermination. À 38 ans, il assumait naturellement le rôle de « grand frère » de sa promotion. Très apprécié de ses camarades de classe, il était connu pour son caractère sociable, sa maturité et sa vision positive de la vie.
Hugo était un étudiant engagé dans la communauté IÉSEG. Parlant couramment le français et passionné, il participait activement à la vie étudiante. Hugo a gagné le respect de ses pairs et du personnel de l’IÉSEG en représentant ses camarades lors de l’atelier organisé pendant le séminaire de la Direction des Études et de l’Expérience Étudiante. Même face à la maladie, Hugo est resté positif et attentif aux autres, laissant une impression forte et durable à tous ceux qui ont eu la chance de le connaître.
La communauté de l’IÉSEG est profondément attristée par son décès.
Nos pensées accompagnent la famille, les proches, les camarades de classe et les amis d’Hugo.
Un livre d’or en ligne est disponible pour permettre aux membres de la communauté de partager des messages de souvenir.
Tous les hommages seront transmis à la famille.
