IÉSEG Language Department is made up of around 20 permanent Teaching Fellows at either Principal, Senior or Assistant level. The language department also collaborates with many adjuncts (across all languages).

The department aims at students being proficient in a minimum of 2 or more foreign languages, in both an international and intercultural context.

The language department enables students to:
> Better understand the culture, ways of life and corporate culture of the language studied.
> Express themselves with ease and spontaneity in both a professional and personal context.
> Become operational within an organization and adapt to new cultures easily.

Some faculty members teach transversal courses based on their expertise: courses on cultural diversity as well as on intercultural communication.

Teaching

Languages are taught within across all different programs: Grande Ecole Program, Specialized Masters, Bachelor in International Business, etc.

Undergraduate students have English as a core course as well as another foreign language of their choice among Chinese, German and Spanish.

Students can also choose a second language option from one of the following languages: Arabic, Mandarin, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish.

All international students have access to FLE courses (French as a Foreign Language), in order to explore a new culture and expand their personal and professional horizons.

All of the language courses are offered at all levels following the CEF (Common European Framework).

Professors create interactive communication within their courses by using authentic and real-life situations.

For students wishing to take their language learning further, professors put into place various activities that enhance language learning: Language Cafés, Visits, Trips, Book Exchange, Multicultural projects, Language Resource Centre where students can meet-up with their professors to discuss or debate on a subject of their choice.

All students have access to an e-learning facility: 7 speaking, Prep my future, Global exam. These foster autonomy and motivation to take their language learning beyond the classroom.

We aim at achieving a score of 880 in the TOEIC exam, which is essential to graduate at IÉSEG.

Research and Excellence Centers

Several faculty members belong to the ICIE (IÉSEG Center of Intercultural Engagement) Excellent Center depending on their expertise.
