[News In Brief] IÉSEG students win the 2024 IMA Student Case Competition

Alice SUTER, Hajar EZZINE, Ingrid GONZALEZ, Tithsamnang LY and Wei LUO, all students of IÉSEG’s Master in International Accounting, Audit and Control, have won the prestigious « Ace the Case – 2024 IMA Student Case Competition », organized by IMA Europe (the Institute of Management Accountants).

This competition is open to all students from European universities and business schools. The 3 best teams, among which the IÉSEG students, presented their project during the IMA 2024 Europe Annual Conference, in April in Amsterdam.

Published in the 2023 edition of Strategic Finance, the 2024 subject was : « Determining how to classify stock investments: the case of Unbekannt, Inc ». The Finance students team had to decide whether to keep using the fair value method or switch to the equity method for its stock investment, and why.

The Student Case Competition is sponsored annually by IMA Europe to provide an opportunity for students to interpret, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and communicate a solution to a management accounting problem.

IÉSEG congratulates Alice SUTER, Hajar EZZINE, Ingrid GONZALEZ, Tithsamnang LY and Wei LUO for their outstanding performance, as well as Raul BARROSO, the Master’s Academic Director and Pascale BAAKLINY, Accounting and Auditing professor at IÉSEG, who supported them in their endeavour.
