LOYOLA COLLEGE
The primary aim of the College is to provide University education
in a Christian atmosphere to deserving students, especially
those belonging to the Catholic Christian Community.
Though this college is meant primarily for Catholics, it does
admit other students irrespective of their caste and creed.
The College aims at training young men and women to be leaders
of quality in all walks of life and serve their fellowmen
with justice, truth and love. Further it will foster an atmosphere
of intellectual vigour and moral rectitude in which the
students may find their fulfillment.
Loyola College has continued to remain for the past 4 years, in
the list of Top 10 Colleges in India ranked by India Today.
Loyola promotes a research culture among faculty and students.
63% of the staff is engaged in active research.
Last year, the UGC conferred the Potential for Excellence
Award to Loyola, for infrastructure development. Loyola
College is one of the 47 colleges in India and 8 in Tamil Nadu
identified under the scheme.

The Department of Commerce opened in 1945. Objectives:
- To create an awareness of various concepts in Commerce subjects and their application in the Business world
- To sharpen students' analytical and decision-making skills
- To cater to the needs of students who plan to pursue professional courses like CA, ICWAI, ACS, and MBA
- To provide students with opportunities for undertaking, projects in companies and to provide hands-on experience

About the city of Lille
With a population of approximately 1.9 million
inhabitants and 6 European capitals within a 250-
kilometer radius, Lille, due to its strategic position
at the crossroads of Northern Europe, is rapidly
gaining status as a world trade and communications
center.
The link between Great Britain and Continental
Europe with high-speed trains to Belgium and
West Germany enhances Lille's location at the
heart of a quickly expanding region: Paris 1 hr,
Brussels 40 minutes, London 1 hr 40...
Lille has a rich, cultural diversity and vitality. For
example, its Museum of Fine Arts represents the

Admission
Entrance examinations will be conducted by Loyola and IESEG. Mathematics, reasoning and English tests are organised in Chennai
in May-June.
Places available : 50 for both female and male students.
Each course comprises a balanced mix of lectures and seminars
Large and small groups will work together on projects and courses.
Academic accessments are under the responsability of IESEG and Loyola
The Office of the Controller of Examinations conducts all Semester
Examinations.
Inquiries regarding Continuous Assessments are made with the respective Departments and semester Examinations with
Controller's Office.

Students are eligible to take Bank Loans in India for study periods abroad. They are also eligible to work part-time in France for
around 20 hours a week on a student visa.
