Conference objectives
The aim of COMPIE is to bring together practitioners and academics to discuss developments in the theory and the applications of counterfactual methods for policy impact evaluation. Applications can cover a broad range of interventions, from labor and social policy to regulation and funding programmes, ideally with a focus on EU policies or developing countries.

The conference will consist of plenary, contributed and organised sessions.
The conference will be in-person only.

Important dates
- Paper submissions: from 1 Jan to 28 Feb, 2026: link to conference maker
- Acceptance decision: 31 Mar 2026. Authors of accepted papers need to register by 30 Apr 2026 to confirm participation.
- Registration: between 1 Apr and 15 May, 2026.
- Fees: 240 euros for normal submissions and 160 euros for PhD students
