IÉSEG ranked Level 4 – Transforming School in the 2025 Positive Impact Rating

The Positive Impact Rating (PIR) is a unique international ranking that evaluates business schools not by their academic prestige or financial performance, but by their social and environmental impact as perceived by their own students.

The 2025 edition marks a significant milestone:

  • 86 schools from 28 countries were evaluated,
  • with the participation of over 17,000 students,
  • and for the first time, a parallel survey of faculty members was introduced to cross-examine perspectives.

Despite the growing diversity of participating institutions, the overall average score remains steady at 7.8/10, demonstrating the robustness of the methodology. PIR continues to gain relevance, transparency, and influence within higher education.

IÉSEG ranked Level 4 – Transforming School

In this context, IÉSEG is proud to be ranked again at Level 4 – Transforming School, one of the highest tiers of the PIR. This level groups schools scoring between 7.4 and 8.7/10 and reflects a culture of impact deeply embedded in strategy, governance, teaching, and concrete actions.

This recognition, awarded directly by students, confirms the relevance of IÉSEG’s initiatives to address major societal, environmental, and ethical challenges.

IÉSEG highlighted in the 2025 PIR Report

Beyond its ranking, IÉSEG is also cited as an example in the 2025 PIR Report as one of the Schools that successfully integrated the student voice into its governance. This recognition follows actions undertaken as part of the Transition 2026 initiative, launched in 2023, aiming to profoundly transform the entire School around impact issues.

Transition 2026 focuses on four major pillars: teaching, research, operations and governance. It aims at mobilizing all stakeholders to make sustainability and impact a shared responsibility and a daily reality.

“This dual recognition, both in the ranking and the PIR Report, is a strong confirmation that our approach is on the right track. It encourages us to continue our transformation, with and for our community,” explains Maria CASTILLO, Director of Strategic Projects Development at IÉSEG.

A lasting impact momentum

The PIR 2025 confirms a deep trend: students expect schools to commit, evolve, and consider them as full partners. By placing sustainability at the core of its strategy, IÉSEG continues to respond to this call with rigor and coherence.
