Caroline Roussel, new Dean of IÉSEG as of July 1, 2022

IÉSEG is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Roussel as Dean of the School. She takes over from Jean-Philippe Ammeux, who has led the institution since 1994. Her appointment is effective as of July 1, 2022. At an extraordinary meeting on September 30, 2021, the IÉSEG Board of Trustees unanimously approved this choice.

Caroline Roussel has, for many years, demonstrated the extent of her strengths and skills, as well as her involvement in serving the School. The decision to appoint her as Dean is therefore, a logical, pragmatic and above all ambitious choice for the future of IÉSEG“, explains Marc DELOZANNE, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IÉSEG and Managing Director of Leroy Merlin France. “This choice guarantees, for the IÉSEG community (faculty, administrative teams, students, graduates, partners), continuity in the implementation of the School’s strategy and development“.

Caroline Roussel holds a PhD in Management Sciences, a Master’s Degree in management control, accountancy and financial management and an Accreditation to Supervise Research. She has been a professor at IÉSEG since 2002. She previously held the positions of Head of Department and Director of Academic Development, before being named Academic Director of IÉSEG and Dean of Faculty in 2016. She was, Vice Dean of IÉSEG since 2020. Her research interests include open strategy and performance management tools. She has published in internationally recognized journals such as Organization Studies, European Management Review, Knowledge Management Research & Practice, and the British Journal of Management.

Involved from the beginning of the Vision 2025 process and the construction of the 2016-2021 strategic plan, Caroline Roussel has already made a significant contribution to strengthening the academic excellence and pedagogical strategy of the School, while responding to the challenges of a rapidly changing environment. With the support of the Board of Trustees, the Management Board and all the academic and administrative teams, Caroline Roussel will be responsible for deploying the School’s future 2022-2027 strategic plan, entitled “Inspire – Connect – Transform”.

Caroline ROUSSEL concludes: “It is with great enthusiasm that I take on these new responsibilities; succeeding Jean-Philippe Ammeux at the head of IÉSEG is an honor and I would like to thank the members of our Board of Trustees for their trust. The quality of our pedagogical project and of our research, as well as the commitment of all our teams to the service of our students, provides a very solid foundation to pursue our ambitious development in France and internationally. Involved for many years in IÉSEG’s strategic projects, I am deeply attached to the Vision and shared values of our School, in which I believe deeply and which were reaffirmed during the co-writing of our new strategic plan. With all of its graduates, students and teams, IÉSEG has an important role to play in the coming years, through its programs and research, to meet not only environmental but also social, economic and societal challenges. This new chapter in IÉSEG’s history is based on solid fundamentals for a renewed ambition.”
