L’Atelier showcases creative talents at IÉSEG through fashion shows
IÉSEG is home to a wide variety of student associations catering to all tastes and interests. Among them, the fashion association L’Atelier stands out as an incubator for creative talent, a place where fashion becomes a lively and collaborative experience. Founded in 2017, the association will soon celebrate its 10th anniversary and has gradually specialized in producing fashion events that highlight the work and passion of creative individuals.
A mission: to promote talent
“Our goal is to promote the work of our peers and the entire creative process behind it,” says Mathys JEHANNE, Chairman of L’Atelier. L’Atelier’s vision is founded on the values of collaboration, kindness, and innovation. Its main mission is to produce fashion shows and events that showcase the talents of tomorrow. Designers, make-up artists, models, and photographers all find L’Atelier to be a springboard for putting their skills to the test and building a professional network. The association combines professionalism with a student spirit, creating a space where everyone can express their creativity while developing their organizational skills.
Memorable fashion shows

L’Atelier‘s specialty? Staging memorable fashion shows. These events stand out for their creativity and their ability to adapt to the seasons and themes: from Studio 80, which showcased second-hand clothing, to Falling in Love, which celebrated fall, to the masked ball Paradise, the association innovates every year.
The association’s latest fashion show – Frisson d’Eden – celebrating winter, perfectly illustrates this dynamic. Held at La Canopy in the Vieux-Lille neighborhood, the event brought together more than 200 attendees and around 50 people behind the scenes.
The organization of the fashion shows begins several months in advance: brainstorming on the theme, budgeting, finding sponsors, rehearsals, selecting designers and models, choosing music, and coordinating teams. On the big day, the atmosphere behind the scenes is intense, with decorating, fittings, makeup, photo shoots, last-minute rehearsals, and stressful moments.
A fashion show and a human adventure
“Backstage is the most intense part, but also the most magical. Seeing everyone working together and creating something together is truly a unique moment,” says Mathys.
The fashion shows combine creativity, technique, and storytelling to become truly immersive experiences. Every detail, from the choice of music to the lighting, is designed to transport the audience into a captivating world.
Showcasing and promoting talent
What sets L’Atelier apart is its commitment to showcasing talent. The latest show brought together 42 models, 10 designers, 6 make-up artists, 6 photographers/videographers, and a music producer. Participants benefit from a professional photo shoot, networking opportunities, and advice on how to become more professional, all while experiencing the unique energy of a creative event. The association helps turn ideas into reality and transforms students into true professionals.
“We highlight every talent, and we thank them publicly. The feedback is incredible, especially for emerging designers who see their work exhibited in a true fashion show. Photographers have already told us that this was the best student fashion show they have ever participated in, and they have done many.”

A human and professional adventure
Beyond technical and project management skills, L’Atelier teaches resilience, collaboration, and team spirit. “Working with your friends in this setting means learning to manage human relationships while remaining super professional. We create bonds that last well beyond the fashion show,” Mathys emphasizes.
The fashion show is not just an event: it is a collective project where the chemistry between students and creatives makes all the difference. It is a real place for meeting and exchange, where everyone contributes to bringing fashion and creativity to life in a different way.
A special role in a business school
L’Atelier plays a particular role at IÉSEG. It combines creativity and professional learning in a business-oriented environment. As Mathys explains: “We offer professional experiences, and that opens up opportunities in the world of fashion and events, even from a business school. For example, it helped me find an internship in fashion show production.”
The association proves that creativity and business can coexist. It offers a perfect balance between professionalism and passion, while enriching students’ experiences, both personally and professionally.
