Andrea BRUGNOLO

Master in International Business, 2024

Portfolio Management & Remediation Specialist, Allianz Partners

Italy

I am currently working at Allianz Partners in the Underwriting & Portfolio Monitoring team as a Portfolio Management & Remediation Specialist. My role involves analyzing the profit and loss statements of the contracts we have with our clients to determine their profitability. If a contract is not profitable, I propose tariff increases or collaborate with the sales team to find solutions to make the account profitable.

If I were to summarize my experience of the Master in International Business at IÉSEG in three key takeaways, they would be:

International Environment: I believe this is one of the strengths of being part of a Master cohort at IÉSEG. It adds significant value both personally and professionally, enriching one’s experience and preparing for the global workforce.

Teaching Methods: Having studied in Italy for my bachelor’s degree, I was accustomed to a more theoretical approach. Pursuing a master’s degree, especially in a business field where practical skills are emphasized, was crucial for developing skills that I would later use in the professional world.

Personal Growth: This might be the most important aspect on a human level. It’s the reason I always encourage others to try an experience abroad. Personally, it leads to growth, learning to adapt, and living with people who are completely different from us but share the same goals.

I’ve never considered myself a “marketing guy,” but I must admit that one of the courses I enjoyed the most was International Marketing. The main reason, which is also a common factor among the courses I found most engaging, was the skill and level of involvement the professor brought to teaching the subject.

As mentioned earlier, I think the greatest strength of the Master in International Business program is its focus on creating a highly international cohort and emphasizing practical aspects of teaching. The biggest help I received was in developing the right skills that enabled me to enter the corporate world in a country and with language that are not my own, and these skills continue to help me today.
