Master in International Business, 2024
Freelancer, Coty
Canada
I am Canadian, originally from Toronto. I currently work as a freelancer in retail education for major fragrance and beauty companies, most notably Coty, where I was responsible for the Burberry and Hugo Boss brands within the Prestige fragrance category.
Beyond freelancing, I am also the founder of Rue & Fifth, a Paris-based creative agency specializing in branding, retail education, and cross-cultural strategy for lifestyle and luxury brands.
Living in a new country was both a challenge and a gift, it allowed me to grow tremendously, both personally and professionally. The Master in International Business at IÉSEG brought together classmates from more than 25 different nationalities, which gave me the opportunity to practice empathy, leadership, and teamwork in a truly global context.
My time at IÉSEG also gave me lifelong friendships and even led me to meet my partner. Studying alongside peers transformed moments of stress and anxiety into experiences of support, laughter, and shared resilience. Being far from home, we created a family for ourselves in Paris: navigating school, life, and French culture together.
Most importantly, the program helped me discover my true passion: branding and marketing. It gave me the clarity and confidence to pivot my career path in this direction.
My favorite course was International Marketing. It offered a rigorous study of the models and theories that shape branding and market entry strategies, but what made it truly impactful was how it bridged theory with real-world practice. The projects were particularly meaningful, as they encouraged us to creatively explore how brands can adapt to new cultures – an exercise that mirrored my own experience as an international student in France.
The Master in International Business provided me with the tools and perspective to pursue the career I truly wanted. The program’s broad scope covering finance, HR, sales, leadership, and more gave me a holistic understanding of business, empowering me to not only excel in my corporate roles but also to launch my own agency.
As an expat in Paris, I now leverage this combination of academic training and lived cultural experience to help brands connect meaningfully with international audiences. IÉSEG inspired me to take ownership of my career path, blending my passion for storytelling, branding, and cultural strategy into a business that reflects both who I am and the global perspectives I want to bring to the industry.
