Discover the winners of the 8th edition of the ‘How I met your Start-up’ speech contest

On November 23, 2022, the 8th edition of How I Met Your Start-Up* held its grand finale. The event gathered more than 700 people in the Teilhard de Chardin amphitheater, at the Catholic University of Lille.

This year, the competition was tough for the 6 finalists. Indeed, nearly 30 students submitted their applications for the pre-selection stage, and the level was higher than ever. During the semi-final on October 27th, the 6 participating start-ups were able to select the candidate who would best represent them on the big day. This Wednesday evening, the public could thus see :

  • Nordine Merchid for AlloMamy, the project that brings joy to the daily lives of seniors
  • Chloé Besson for ZAC, committed opticians giving a second life to your glasses
  • Thomas Beillard for Out, an application that revolutionizes your outings with friends
  • Victor Bertrand for TomorrowTech, promoting the rental of reconditioned devices
  • Jean Torre for SisterFeel, which redefines women’s well-being by using the power of cold
  • Dylan Zepi for Keepzy, helping students in their housing search

With nearly a month of preparation with Jacques-Yves Hennebel, public speaking coach, and thanks to a close collaboration with the start-ups, the students delivered a fierce competition to win the first prize. In the end, Chloé Besson won the first place for her start-up, “lunettes de Zac”. She won 500 € and her start-up 1 500 €. In second place, Dylan Zepi won 300 € and his start-up Keepzy 1 000 €. Finally, in third place, Nordine Morchid won 200 € and his start-up AlloMamy, 500 €.

If Nordine convinced the spectators who elected him as the public’s favorite, it was a carefully composed jury that judged the candidates to award them the previous prizes mentioned:

  • Koussée Vaneecke as president of the jury: president of the Board of EuraTechnologies
  • Hadj Ali Menad : art director, director and acting coach
  • Lionel Bellenger : Founder of IBEL, Director of the ESF Human Sciences collection, Speaker and Author
  • Jean-Michel Lobry : journalist, President of the audiovisual pole – Rossel Group
  • Yann Orpin : President of Medef Lille Métropole, CLEANING BIO group and former President of the CCI Grand Lille
  • Caroline Roussel :Dean of IÉSEG

The evening was hosted by various speakers, such as IÉSEG Danse, the comedian Tom Boudet, La Distillerie, Éloïse Compère and Axel Régent, the virtual reality company MindOut and the Bureau des Jeux. Finally, Matthias Bauswein, former finalist of edition #7, will have led the evening as a speaker. The spectators of the competition and those who took part in the cocktail party were delighted.
