Building bridges across the world: IÉSEG signs new international academic partnerships

Over the past 3 years, IÉSEG has strengthened its international presence and signed a significant number of new academic partnerships with international universities and business schools on different continents, resulting in 342 partnerships in 75 countries, all around the world.

Studying in another country is a great opportunity to develop a better understanding of both one’s own and other cultures, gain a truly “international” education by living abroad, and become familiar with other educational methods and management approaches. It also help students gain self-confidence and independence, improve their language skills and intercultural competences through immersion, while developing lifelong friendships around the world and a future professional network.

Going abroad on exchange for one semester is a requirement to graduate with a “Master in Management” degree (IÉSEG MiM is ranked 26th worldwide by the Financial Times), while it is an option for the Bachelor in International Business.

IÉSEG has recently reinforced its European network through new partnerships with institutions that are geographically closer and share the School’s commitment to sustainability. This approach is in line with IÉSEG’s Sustainability Policy and Climate Action Plan, contributing to the School’s carbon footprint reduction while maintaining a rich portfolio of international exchange opportunities.

To further encourage more sustainable mobility, students learn about the impact of traveling by plane on the environment and discuss different initiatives to be more eco-responsible during an academic exchange. IÉSEG also launched, in 2023, the #TakeTheTrain Fund, which provides financial support of up to €100 to students who choose to travel by train or other lower-carbon transport instead of flying for their international exchange or internship. In the 2024–2025 academic year, 151 students benefited from this program, representing nearly €10,000 in grants. Since its launch, the initiative has supported 219 students with more than €15,000 in total funding.

Europe

Also in Europe, a new double degree as part of an exchange program at the Master’s level has been signed with IÉSEG’s existing partner, Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Faculty of Economics in Milano (Italy). Promoting interdisciplinarity, this new program will allow participating students to be graduated both from IÉSEG’s Master in Management and Cattolica Laurea Magistrale in Innovation and Technology Management.

Going abroad on exchange does not incur additional tuition fees for the selected students, with the exception of some double degree programs. In 2025–2026, 460 IÉSEG students benefited from Erasmus+ funding for exchange program at partner universities in Europe holding the Erasmus+ Charter. This initiative helped them reduce the costs associated with mobility (transportation, housing). The amount of Erasmus+ grants depends on the type of activity, the duration, the sending country and the host country.

These academic partnerships allow students to spend a semester at one of these institutions while ensuring that their ECTS credits are recognized back home. ECTS is an acronym for European Credits Transfer System, established in 1989 as part of the Erasmus program to facilitate the recognition of student mobility.

IÉSEG has also strengthened its network on the 5 continents with new partnerships with the following institutions:

North and South America

Africa & Middle East

Asia

With its new partnership with Fudan University, IÉSEG strengthens its ties with the Chinese C9 League (similar to the American Ivy league or the Australian G8). The School now has partnerships with seven of the nine C9 League institutions: Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China, Nanjing University and Harbin Institute of Technology.

Institutions that are interested in extending or establishing new partnerships with IÉSEG should contact the School’s International Relations development team.
