IÉSEG School of Management reinforces its partnerships in Africa by launching a joint program with Prépa Saint-Jean in Douala (Cameroon)

For over 15 years, IÉSEG has signed numerous partnership agreements with Business Schools and universities in 9 African countries, a key-continent for the School in terms of international presence and of development strategy. Thus, in 2023-2024, no less than 48 IÉSEG students left in academic exchange in one of the 18 academic partners of the School, while 380 students from the African continent came to IÉSEG.

IÉSEG also strongly committed to its academic partners by taking part in joint research programs, by accepting temporary detachments of academic and administrative staff, by sharing best practices and by accompanying them during international accreditations processes. IÉSEG’s objective is to develop a co construction process with its African partners to offer high-quality academic programs that respond to local needs while providing students with international opportunities.

In 2022, IÉSEG signed an even more committed partnership with Prépa Saint-Jean, a Higher Education institution located in Douala (Cameroon). A joint program has been set up to facilitate the admission and integration of Cameroonian students into IÉSEG. 61 students joined the first class of this program in September 2022, and a further 59 in September 2023. The first students to graduate from Prépa Saint-Jean will therefore arrive at IÉSEG in September 2024.

Students in this joint program, whose curriculum was co-constructed with IÉSEG and inspired by its Grande École Program, will spend their first two years of study in Douala. Than, the students who have completed the two years at Prépa Saint-Jean can join IÉSEG through parallel admission. They will then enter the 3rd year of the Bachelor cycle of the Grande École Program and join the Lille or Paris – La Défense campuses, depending on their preference.

For Stéphane WANDJI, Director of Prépa Saint-Jean, “during these 2 intense years of study, more than a hundred of first-year and second-year students follow a demanding curriculum, taught in both English and French. This program enables them to discover the world of business (with a compulsory 8-week internship) and to acquire the fundamentals of management science (marketing, sales, accounting, etc.). These fundamentals will be essential to their success at IÉSEG, where they will benefit from the academic excellence of the School’s teaching and the international recognition of this diploma“.

We chose Prépa Saint-Jean not only for the quality of its teaching, but also for the proximity of our values and Vision, since both our institutions are affiliated to Catholic universities. We are deeply involved with our partner in the co-construction of this joint program, not only in terms of academic content, but also in the pedagogical dimension of the teaching and the recruitment of the professors. Our aim with this program is to co-develop a path of excellence here in Africa, offering young Cameroonians a high-quality academic program, the opportunity to experience the academic exchanges that IÉSEG can offer them, to get involved in a rich associative life and to benefit from the richness of our Career Program. We want them to come away from this experience even stronger, and, thanks to the IÉSEG diploma, to take advantage of the best professional opportunities so they can live the career of their dreams“, concludes Caroline ROUSSEL, Dean of IÉSEG.
