As the 2026–2027 academic year gets underway, IÉSEG is strengthening its faculty by welcoming 16 new permanent faculty members with research responsibilities, as well as one Professor of Practice. These new appointments build on a recruitment strategy pursued by the School for several years, in line with Becoming, IÉSEG’s educational project, which places human transformation at the heart of the learning experience. IÉSEG now has 231 permanent faculty members representing 53 nationalities.

A recruitment strategy pursued over several years

Recruiting top-level academics is not a one-off initiative for IÉSEG: it is a long-term policy pursued year after year. In 2024, the School had already welcomed 20 new permanent faculty members, bringing its faculty to 208 members. In 2025, a further 32 professors and postdoctoral researchers from around the world joined the School. 

This latest wave of recruitment confirms that momentum and demonstrates IÉSEG’s ability to attract leading academic talent year after year in a highly competitive global academic market. 

Global recruitment in one of the most selective academic markets

Nearly 1,200 applications were received this year from around the world. This level of interest reflects an attractiveness that IÉSEG has built on strong foundations: the School holds the Triple Crown of international accreditations (EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA), an important mark of recognition for academics considering where to pursue their teaching, research and careers. 

A financial commitment commensurate with the School’s ambitions

This sustained attractiveness comes with a significant investment, one that IÉSEG is fully committed to making: the School allocates around 20% of its annual budget to research development. This financial commitment reflects a core belief at IÉSEG: excellence in teaching can only be sustained over the long term when it is underpinned by high-quality research, supported by sustained investment in line with this ambition. 

IÉSEG firmly believes that teaching and research mutually reinforce one another. Research continually enriches the knowledge taught in the classroom and brings new perspectives, while also strengthening interactions with companies and other stakeholders. IÉSEG’s permanent faculty therefore combine research and teaching as an integral part of their work. The high quality of their research and publications, together with the School’s international outlook, contribute to IÉSEG’s reputation. 

Expertise that extends beyond the classroom

Educating the next generation is a fundamental mission, but it is not the only one. The research and expertise of IÉSEG faculty are intended to have a direct impact on business and society: new ways of working, environmental and societal transitions, and transformation driven by data and artificial intelligence are just some of the areas in which academic expertise can help organizations navigate the challenges they face.
