Before coming to IÉSEG, I grew up in the coastal town of Galle, Sri Lanka. The rich cultural heritage and vibrant community life of Galle shaped my early interests and provided a strong foundation for my academic journey. My experiences in local sales and marketing roles, coupled with the town’s blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern trends, sparked my interest in international business. This background inspired me to pursue the Bachelor in International Business at IÉSEG, seeking to blend my local insights with global perspectives.

I chose IÉSEG for my Bachelor’s in International Business due to its strong reputation in global business education and its innovative approach to integrating creativity with strategic management. IÉSEG’s emphasis on fostering a global perspective and its extensive network in the international business world were major factors in my decision. The program’s comprehensive curriculum and practical approach offered the perfect opportunity to gain valuable skills and insights, preparing me for a successful career in business. The school’s commitment to excellence and its supportive learning environment made it the ideal place for me to build a solid foundation for my future endeavors.

My exchange at Konkuk University in Seoul was a truly eye-opening experience. Immersing myself in South Korean culture and everyday life allowed me to see the corporate world from a fresh perspective. I learned firsthand about East-Asian consumer behavior and fashion trends, which contrasted with what I had studied in Europe. This deep dive into a different market broadened my understanding of global business dynamics and enhanced my adaptability. It provided me with a more comprehensive view of how diverse cultures can influence business practices and consumer preferences. The daily life experiences I gained from Seoul have been invaluable, where I’ve definitely developed greater resilience and adaptability as I navigated a new environment, and I gained a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity as a more well-rounded global citizen.

At IÉSEG, I participated in events organized by the Bureau de l’Humanitaire, engaging in various solidarity and humanitarian causes. I was also involved with the International Club, which allowed me to connect with peers from diverse backgrounds and work on international initiatives. These experiences taught me the importance of community engagement, collaboration, and cultural understanding, all of which have enriched my personal and professional growth.

I am currently a Business Operations Analyst at Veesion Technologies. My responsibilities include analyzing business processes, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending improvements to optimize operations. I also oversee data collection and reporting, support strategic planning initiatives, and collaborate with various departments to enhance operational efficiency. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication to drive operational success.

The training I received during my Bachelor’s at IÉSEG has been instrumental in my role as a Business Operations Analyst. The rigorous curriculum provided me with a robust foundation in business analysis, financial management, and strategic planning. Practical projects and case studies from my studies have directly influenced my ability to analyze data, identify key trends, and implement effective operational strategies. The global perspective and problem-solving skills I developed at IÉSEG have also been valuable in navigating complex business environments and contributing to the efficiency and success of my team.

One of my best memories from my Bachelor’s program at IÉSEG has to be the countless group projects we tackled. Between coordinating schedules, deciphering endless group chats, and debating the finer points of our presentations, I sometimes joked that I’d earned a second degree in “Teamwork and Negotiation.” Despite the chaos, these projects were both intellectually stimulating and a great way to develop strong problem-solving skills. They were also a fantastic opportunity to build lasting friendships and create a supportive network that I continue to cherish in life. The shared experience of surviving project deadlines together is something I’ll always look back on with a smile.
