Emiliana VALEDON

Bachelor in International Business / 2022

Student

Venezuelan

After obtaining my Baccalaureate at the Lycée Français de New York, I aimed to continue learning in a highly international environment, similar to my past experience in the Lycée Français de Caracas and Lycée Français de New York. Among various French business schools, IÉSEG stood out due to its international approach and emphasis on sustainability and interpersonal skills development.

In 2019, I joined the Bachelor in International Business program on the Lille campus. The appeal of this new program, taught entirely in English, in a human-scale city, caught my attention. It offered diverse courses, ranging from Human Behavior to Financial Markets. The inclusion of highly ranked partner universities was a bonus, providing an opportunity for an exchange during the third year. Additionally, the program’s professionalizing approach through internships aligned with my goal to enter the job market and establish my professional project.

I particularly appreciated the school’s flexibility allowing students to explore their professional paths while providing them with guidance. Devoted professors facilitated our engagement, and mandatory internships each year expanded my network and allowed me to put acquired skills into practice.

“International Law for Business” was my favorite course, allowing for a comparison of legal systems in a business context. The professor encouraged critical thinking in our work.

My exchange semester in Lisbon was remarkable, providing a business-focused program while immersing myself in a new culture. Learning the language and taking Portuguese culture courses added significant value to this experience. A professor in Lisbon even helped me secure an internship for my third year.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Université Paris 8 in “Cultural Policy and Cultural Management in Europe.” I also work part-time at an art gallery where I completed my internship during my second year at IÉSEG.

IÉSEG was a valuable experience, serving as a transition between the Lycée in New York, my move to France, and my current pursuits. The highly international environment provided insights, and the diverse courses offered a comprehensive understanding of business.
