João Vieira da Cunha appointed Director of Research at IÉSEG

Dr João Vieira da Cunha, Professor of Management Information Systems, has been appointed as the new Director of Research at IÉSEG School of Management, taking over from Dr Anna Canato as of the 1 September 2017.

Dr Vieira da Cunha, who is from Portugal, obtained his doctorate in 2006 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – Sloan School of Management in the United States. He began his career as a professor at the Nova School of Business and Economics in Portugal before becoming Head of the Institute for Research and Doctoral Studies at the Universidade Europeia in Lisbon.
In September 2016, he came to France to join the faculty of IÉSEG on the Lille campus. As professor in management of information systems, he teaches and conducts research related to the leadership and digital transformation of organizations, the implementation and impact of information systems.
His research has been published in numerous international journals such as Organization Science, MIS Quarterly and the Academy of Management Review. Under the responsibility of the Academic Dean of the school, his mission is to further develop the research at IÉSEG and its centers of excellence.
