TALENT: A focus on IÉSEG’s personalized Career Services program

For a number of years now IÉSEG has provided students with a personalized program to help them define, develop and/or refine their career path. This program is called “TALENT”.

TALENT provides all IÉSEG students, from the Grande École and postgraduate programs, with tailored career support: certified coaches, IÉSEG staff, and experienced professionals from French and international companies all provide their expertise (42 events per year).

TalentFor students in the Bachelor cycle of the Grande École program, TALENT allows them to explore different careers, and helps them to decide which of the 9 business/management specializations they will follow in the Master cycle. It provides guidance when students are selecting their internships, while sessions with consultants from the business world help students define their personal and professional motivations and values.

During the Master cycle, TALENT provides students with a range of “à la carte” services and tools to pursue their career orientation. Each of the nine specialization tracks  in the Master program (such as finance, marketing, information systems) management has a dedicated coach with expertise in that specific sector.

Workshops – given by a team of 40 certified coaches and recruitment professionals –  provide practical guidance on how they improve their CV, training for an assessment center, developing a ‘pitch’, or developing a network etc.

All IÉSEG students are also given regular opportunities to meet companies and develop their professional networks.  “Corporate Talks” are organized each week on different topics relating to careers, the job market, (“International Careers”, Working in a SME”, “Becoming an Entrepreneur”…) They can also take part in the various careers fairs organized by IÉSEG (more than 230 companies participated last year ) and in the company visits organized by the Careers and corporate relations team.

The School’s Careers Service also organizes, several times each semester, mock job interviews in English and French with partner companies. These are one-on-one sessions between the student and the facilitator, during which the student, with his CV, will try to convince the ‘recruiter’, and then have the opportunity to receive advice on how to improve.

The Online Career Center includes 25,000 internship opportunities each year (10% of which are outside of France), over 1 200 videos and over 300 webinars via its partners Jobteaser and Evisors.  Several sector-specific virtual forums are also organized throughout the year.  Individual and specialized coaching is now an integral part of the program and is offered on-demand, unlimited, including for students off-campus via skype.

Over the years, TALENT has become a major part of IÉSEG’s courses that helps to guarantee the excellent employability of IÉSEG students.
