IÉSEG is ranked 2nd in France in the 2023 “Case Centre Impact Index”

The Case Centre Impact Index is a new annual ranking launched as part of The Case Centre’s 50th anniversary celebration. Founded in 1973 by 22 higher education institutions, who wanted a reliable facility for sharing case materials among business professors, The Case Centre is now firmly rooted in the heart of the case community as the independent home of the case method.

As the independent distributor of the world’s largest and most diverse collection of cases, including those from leading business schools worldwide, The Case Centre is uniquely placed to reward case teaching and writing excellence. The Case Centre Impact Index is an annual ranking of organizations based on the global reach and impact of their case writing.
The Impact Index is compiled using The Case Centre’s usage data from the previous academic year. To reflect the global reach and impact of an organization’s case writing, the index metrics include how many of their cases have been used, by how many organizations, in how many countries, and how many individual students have been taught based on the cases.

Since 2022, The Case Centre has received 69 new cases for distribution from IÉSEG authors. In total IÉSEG collection available through The Case Centre numbers 330+ cases, many with accompanying instructor materials, software and videos. One is a prize-winning case.

Over the period, 66 cases from IÉSEG were sold to 56 organizations in 23 countries and were taught to 3,186 non-IÉSEG students. These figures thus ranks IÉSEG as the 2nd French organization and 23rd worldwide in this Impact Index.

I am delighted to see IÉSEG ranks in The Case Centre Impact Index as N°23 worldwide and N°2 in France. This prestigious recognition, based on the global reach and impact of IÉSEG cases, acknowledges our faculty’s devotion to crafting insightful, relevant, challenging, and engaging case studies. This commitment to high-quality case writing has enriched the learning experience of IÉSEG students as well as of countless others in many institutions all over the world. Thus, we collectively take immense pride in this achievement, seeing it as a reflection of our dedication to excellence in business education and the far-reaching impact of our academic contributions.

Cases are one of the key components of our Teaching and Learning Strategy. They play a crucial role in developing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and practical knowledge among students. They also foster an interdisciplinary understanding of grand challenges. By providing students with real-world scenarios to analyze and learn from, cases effectively prepare them for the challenges they will face in their careers. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to the case method and inspires us to continue innovating and contributing significantly to the global business education landscape”, concludes Caroline ROUSSEL, Dean of IÉSEG.
