IÉSEG School of Management sponsors the 2023 “The Economist Sustainability Week”

From March, 29 to March, 31, The Economist organizes in London the 8th edition of the « The Economist Sustainability Week ».In line with its Vision (to empower changemakers for a better society) and its strategic plan “Inspire – Connect – Transform” (the School positions itself as a responsible organization and intends to contribute to reflection and public debates on sustainability in all its dimensions), IÉSEG School of Management will be a partner of this unmissable event in terms of sustainability and social responsibility. IÉSEG is the only Higher Education institution to be a partner of this event, alongside prestigious companies such as BASF, Dassault Systèmes, Google, etc.

With this year’s theme “Empowering businesses to accelerate action on sustainability”, The Economist Sustainability Week attracts nearly 7,000 participants (and more than 1,000 people during the 2-day plenary session) from all over the world. Personalities from businesses, policymakers, financiers, investors, NGOs and others will come to exchange and share their good practices around themes as important as green finance and investment, decarbonising business models, biodiversity, innovative technology, social sustainability, policy, regulation and reporting, resilience and adaptation and circularity and the supply chain.

During this event, Maria Castillo, Director of Social and Environmental Impact at IÉSEG, will speak during a round table on the theme “Upskilling for a sustainable future”. Upskilling business leaders is critical for the transition to a sustainable future. But sustainability cannot be achieved by working in silos. Business leaders need to integrate sustainable thinking in every function, internally and with their partners—imparting a comprehensive understanding of the sustainability issues facing their business, the decarbonisation priorities and the impact on stakeholders. This session will look at how organisations are achieving this. What practical examples are out there?
