[Research Workshop] “Reshoring, Nearshoring – Shorter, Greener, More Expensive?”

October 17th & 18th, 2024
IÉSEG School of Management in Lille Campus

A research workshop on the impact of reshoring and nearshoring on operations and supply chain management by IÉSEG School of Management and University of Antwerpen

————-

Since the COVID 19 pandemic, and further accentuated by recent disruption of international supply chains, as well as the increasing demand for sustainable operations and supply chain management, companies consider – and in part implement – reshoring and nearshoring.

But are these just short-lived tendency or a paradigm change? And how do reshoring and nearshoring impact operations and supply chain management? Are they the key to more agile, resilient, and greener supply chains? And what is the impact of reshoring and nearshoring on costs and services in operations and supply chain management?

This workshop invites researchers to come together and exchange on their work, models developed to understand the current situation, identify future research needs and develop future research projects.

It is organised in cooperation by IÉSEG School of Management, Operations Department, and the University of Antwerp, Faculty of Transport and Regional Economics, bringing together experts for intra and interorganisational Operations and Supply Chain Management.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The primary aim of this two-day workshop is to create a collaborative space where doctoral students, early-career scholars, and more experienced academics can gather to discuss research projects and prospects. The event offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful discussions, identify research gaps and develop cooperations to close these gaps
